LARP

LARP stands for Live Action Role Play. It invites you into a living story where you  step into a role and discover new sides of the world as well as yourself.

What is LARP?

Live Action Roleplay is a creative activity where participants play  characters in a fictional world and let the story unfold through actions, dialogue, and collaboration.

Organizers typically establish a narrative framework, rules, and safety guidelines, while the story itself develops collaboratively through player decisions.

Through costumes (optional), missions, choices, and encounters with other  characters, participants create the narrative in real time. Creating a  space where imagination, improvisation, and play take the lead.

Why try LARP?

The format allows people to explore complex situations from within the perspective of a character rather than as passive observers. LARP encourages teamwork, creativity, and communication. It is an  excellent way to push our comfort zone and be challenged to think  differently.

At the same time it gives students a fun, immersive way to explore problem solving, social dynamics, and their own strengths.

What you need:
When choosing your LARP, take a moment to consider what kind of story, tone, and experience you want to create. Gear isn’t required, but simple props or costumes can enrich the experience. Players can often use everyday objects as props, but it is helpful to provide a selection of items they can choose from to support character immersion. To get started, it might be useful to offer some simple prompts.

Emotional Benefits

LARP gives you permission to feel things intensely through a character. Experiencing joy, anger, sadness or grief through roleplay can be genuinely cathartic and also help in understanding your own emotions better.
